I am creating a landing page for a white paper we are promoting.

I have it here:
www.intotherainforest.com/southamerica

a few questions:
1. Should landing pages be hosted on a different domain then our main site?
2. How does my landing page look?

Thanks for your help!

If this were a PPC landing page, your quality score and bid cost will be improved if it resides on a site with content relevant to the ad, and at least one tiny link from the squeeze page to the main site, you also need privacy policy and contact links in order to have a chance for a good quality rating. Your contact displayed info might? not be recognized by a spider like a contact link would.

I find the image behind the text interferes with reading, you have no margins in the opaque text background, things seem over a bit on the dark colorless side.

i have a product that is very promising and my web designer offered to do a website to sell it online. he offered to do it very cheap in exchange for a commission on sales from the site. seemed fair given the right rate. but he wants 15 percent and not that i know a lot about these things but that seems really high to me. if anyone could give me ANY guidence at all i’d really appreciate it!
thanks!!

Right now, pre-launch…15% seems like a lot – but its worth it to you, if this product gets the exposure you desire, along with the sales income. You can put a cap on it by setting up a royalty agreement form stating that the commission is only effective for the first 100 unit sales (figure a dollar limit on your web designers creative efforts) You can also drop the commission to 10% for the next 100 units or whatever your conscious allows. It works like this – 100 units sell for 30.00 each and 15% is 4.50 dollars – x 100 equals 450.00 – and the next group equals less commission till you get to 1000 or more units.
Now you are not married to this web designer forever, and the cow doesn’t die. All good things must come to an end, and include an exit clause.

There are thousands of health and fitness apps in the apps store. I had the pleasure of testing out the Weight Watchers app for my own use. I have to say that the test was a complete success and delight. The Weight Watchers app works better than the mobile application that Weight Watchers originally created. The app works 100 times faster than the mobile access page.

The app starts with a login page that gives you the ability to access your e-tools account. Once entered you will see an account of your daily total points available. Since this is an app that uses online access to update, it gives you the flexibility to add any food you eat by a touch of the phone. The second way you add is to calculate the calories, fat, and fiber to calculate the total points. The app does it very fast considering it doesn’t need internet access to calculate the amounts. Once calculated it will give you the option to add the food and keep the food in memory, for easy access.

I have been using the app for a month and I actually like to use it better than e-tools. It is simpler and I don’t have to sit in front of a computer to do anything. I keep track of my points on the fly, and where ever I go.

For all Weight Watchers member, I would definitely recommend this app.

Just think, when you first started school how many computers where in your school, and how many kids knew how to use them.  Not only that, how many teachers knew how to use and fix them when something went wrong.  When I went to school, we did have a computer lab with about 25 computers and they were all Mac based computers.  The computers were used to teach us how to type, and had very remedial programs like Math Blaster and Oregon Trail.  These programs were the start for many children on computer.  I consider myself very lucky, when the first computer my father brought home was a Tandy “Trash” 80.  I was about 6 or 7 years old.  This computer laid the ground work for my brother and I to start learning how to program.  We both took to it very quickly inventing and learning with Basic.  Back in the 80s if you mentioned Basic people looked at you like you were crazy.  From there we started learning more and more about computers, but also how they worked from the inside out.  I was very fortunate to have an education about computers at such an early age.  What was unfortunate, is how my knowledge of computers would actually hurt my knowledge in school.  I would want to use my computer to help me with all my tasks and reports.  Back then there was no Internet, but I could use it for word processing.  The trouble was my teachers did not like that.  They wanted me to write everything by hand. Today, my son, who is 5, is still learning to write everything in hand, but they are also teaching them to write.  When I saw his class room, I thought man these computers are old.  I understand that the computer power needed to run the programs that they need are not that high, and I like the fact that he is learning to type.

The future of his schooling is not necessarily going to belong to the schools he attends.  Its going to reside in the amount of effort I put into teaching him the things that schools won’t.  For instance, I think it is vital to teach our children about credit.  How many people would have loved if they would have learned about credit in grade school.  By College it was already too late.  That is when we all got flooded with the offer of free stuff to fill out a credit application.  Another aspect of learning that I will need to teach is how to study.  The schools here in Texas teach to a state test.  The test is a joke.  What good is it to teach a child by jumping around from chapter to chapter to try to build their basis, when all they had to do was teach from first chapter to last chapter.

I will teach my children how to study.  I will also teach my children how to think for themselves and to get ahead.  They have every opportunity, and I will give and show them every tool to master their goals.  This is my promise to them.

This video is so true of the students today.  How can we expect students today to learn at a pace that is not in line with today’s world.  In today’s technology driven world the pace of business changes so fast that in my industry of marketing, online marketing has changed its dynamic 4 times in the last year.  How can students keep up with that, when the books they buy are at least a year old.  I would encourage any parent to get their children involved in computers, and also teach them about being social on the computer.  Understand how the world works on the internet, and become comfortable with the internet.  If we are to introduce a level of accountability to our teachers, with the new education policy of Obama, we should hold ourselves accountable as parents to teach our children how the world really works.
