iPhone lawsuit is now a class action

SAN JOSE, Calif. — A federal judge says a lawsuit against Apple Inc. and AT&T Inc.’s mobile phone unit can move forward as a class action. The suit, which alleges monopolistic behavior, consolidates several filed by iPhone buyers starting in late 2007, a few months after Apple’s smartphone went on sale.

A 2008 amended complaint takes issue with Apple’s “locking’’ of iPhones so they work only on AT&T’s network, and its control over what applications iPhone owners can use on the gadgets.

The lawsuit also says Apple secretly made AT&T its exclusive US iPhone partner for five years. Consumers agree to two-year contracts but are in effect locked into a five-year relationship with AT&T, the suit says, claiming the actions hurt competition and drove up prices.

Judge James Ware said parts of the suit that deal with antitrust law can continue as a class action. The class includes anyone who bought an iPhone with a two-year AT&T contract.

The Israeli Navy have attacked a flotilla of ships carrying humanitarian aid and international activists to Gaza. Reports say up to 20 people were killed and dozens injured as Israeli commandos stormed the vessels over a hundred kilometres off Gaza’s coast. Some of the ships are now being towed to the Israeli port city of Ashdod.

Where do people in Israel get their news from?

Please help – I’m writing a paper on media outlets in Israel. I would particularly like to know alternative outlets but any will be helpful. Please tell me what each outlet is like, what kind of news you get, details like that, etc.
I’m focusing on alternative media so I’d like some independent sources – independent papers, etc.

Israelis get their news from many sources.
Our TV networks are full of news stations.
There are 3 Israeli stations
There are CNN BBC FOX France 24 Russian, Italian El Jazzera, El Manar, you name it.
Radio is unlimited, There are some "Pirate" Stations on the right and left and everything in between.
Israel and Israelis are obsessed with news, We get it from everywhere. That is whaat you should right in your paper.

When is it possible to watch live news with The CNN App for the iPhone?

Hey, I just bought the CNN App for the iPhone. It looks really good, but I cannot watch the CNN News live. The app allows me to watch only a couple of older reports. Do they stream live only on/at certain time of the day? Is it possible to watch the ‘World Report’ live?

Who in their right mind would watch such a stupid inaccurate propaganda news channel. CNN news ratings are so low , do you want to know how low their ratings are? Their so low you could hit a tennis ball on a curb.

Why do news presenters on the BBC World news ALWAYS mispronounce the names of French Canadians?

Whenever I watch BBC World news and on the extremely rare occasion that a French Canadian is mentioned, the news presenters almost always mispronounce his/her name and give it an Anglicised pronunciation. Why?

They mostly do this with NHL players when the Beeb can be bothered to talk about North American sports.

Because they are English lol. I’ve been to Quebec(I live in Ontario), and they’re English was of pronouncing stuff is different from us Ontario-ans. Who in Canada watches BBC anyways? Everytime I flip the channel to BBC, they are always talking about terrorist and Asians lol.

Question with Government homework about Political News Events?

Im trying to find some current Texas Political News Events. Now I know my question might sound stupid but what exactly does it mean by political news event in Texas, does it mean any type of news thats happening in Texas? Or do I have to write about something having to do with the government? Can I write about education or health care?

You should be able to write about any legislation or news going on in the state, either at a state level or, I’d assume, locally. And yes, it’d be news that’s happening specifically in Texas. I’d avoid education or health care unless the story you used talked about government actions for education or health care, like funding, No Child Left Behind, suing the feds over the new bill, etc.

Texas has plenty of big newspapers you can look at — Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News and the Austin American-Statesman.
