A word of Advice. If your passport has evidence that you have traveled to Israel you may not be let into many of the other Middle Eastern countries. Countries like Egypt Jordan and Turkey will let you in but most Arab countries won't. So if you plan on going to some other middle eastern and North African Country besides Egypt, Jordan, Turkey be sure to request that your passport not be stamped but instead have Israeli stamps on a blank piece of paper. If you want to know which countries will or will not let you in with Israeli entry and exit stamps go to http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/ and look up each countries entry and exit requirements.

Travel books depend on what you want to do in these countries as people go there for all sorts of reasons and some books focus on specific reasons.

You can try the front page of any newspaper from recently. I am sure Israel will be in it again. What part of vacation would you like best? The daily missile viewing from Gaza or the 50 checkpoints you need to go through to travel inside Isreal. I would go to Hawaii, it is safer and has nice climate.

I think Israel is amazing. Maybe it's not that safe, but that girl has no idea what she's talking about. obviously a dumb person. Lol, just go to a book store and ask them if they have any books about Israel and the surrounding countries.
